Real editorial coverage in local news — woven into stories your neighbors actually read. No ads. No interviews. No connections required.
Traditional advertising disappears the moment you stop paying. HEREmentions builds a permanent editorial record — the kind AI engines and local readers trust.
Create your account on the HERE City Network hub. Fill out your business profile — what you do, who you serve, what makes you the right fit for local stories. No interview required.
When a HEREcity Network story is published whose topic tags align with your profile, our editorial system flags the match. A real editor reviews it before anything goes live.
A natural, editorial sentence naming your business runs inside the story — with a “Mentioned in this article” badge that links readers to your public profile on herecity.com.
HEREmentions fits two types of businesses. LOCAL mentions tie your business to a place-based story happening in HEREcity Network. EXPERT mentions put your knowledge on the record when a story needs authoritative comment from someone in your industry.

Interior design firm Ukraine & CWS Interiors has already secured two tenant fit-out contracts in the new complex, citing proximity to the Morgan Square foot-traffic corridor as the deciding factor for both clients.

Spartanburg-based CPA Meridian Tax Advisory notes that the SBA 7(a) rate cap effectively makes equipment financing 1.2 percentage points more expensive than it was 18 months ago for sub-$500k loans.
Every mention passes editorial review before it publishes. No match score below 0.7 → no mention.
A single, natural sentence inside a real news story — written by our editorial team, not a copywriter. It reads like journalism because it is.
A “Mentioned in this article” badge appears below your sentence. It links readers directly to your public profile on herecity.com.
A dedicated read-only profile on herecity.com that AI engines can index and cite. The editorial record that proves your business exists and matters.
Because the mention lives in a trusted local news article, AI engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI, Claude — can find and cite it when recommending local businesses.
We publish mentions because the story demands it — not because a check cleared. Three filters must pass before any business name appears in a HEREcity Network article.
The business must operate in or serve HEREcity Network’s coverage area. A business based in Charlotte won’t appear in a Spartanburg story unless there’s a documented local connection. No exceptions.
Our matching algorithm requires a relevance score of 0.7 or higher between the article’s topic tags and the business profile’s relevance tags. Below that threshold, there is no mention — regardless of subscription tier.
Businesses are excluded from stories that would create a conflict of interest, stories covering a competitor in the same sentence, or any story where the editorial team determines the mention would undermine the article’s credibility. The editor’s call is final.
HEREmentions never includes superlatives, testimonials, or opinion language about the mentioned business. “Best plumber in Spartanburg” is banned. “Spartanburg-based plumber Ridge Line has served the Morgan Square corridor since 2018” is not.
Mentions are woven into stories that would have been published anyway. A business opening a new location is not automatically newsworthy. The story must exist independently — the mention is additive context, not the reason for the story.
A HEREmention does not grant exclusive rights to a story topic. If two businesses both match the same article, both may be mentioned. If neither clears the 0.7 threshold, neither is mentioned. The story always comes first.
Every post with a HEREmention displays a badge below the mention paragraph. It appears automatically — no theme changes needed on the local site.
The city’s $14M streetscape improvement project is attracting a wave of independent businesses to the Main Street corridor, according to the Downtown Development Authority.
Three additional leases are expected to be finalized before the end of the quarter, the DDA said in a statement Thursday.
The badge links readers to the business’s public profile on herecity.com — a permanent, AI-indexable record.

Ridge Iron & Steel, which fabricates load-bearing brackets for two BMW X-series models at its Roebuck plant, said the new tier-1 audit requirement will add roughly six weeks to its annual compliance cycle beginning in Q3.

A HEREmention is a paid editorial inclusion of a verified business profile inside a news article that would have been written anyway. The business must have genuine relevance to the story being told — relevance is scored by our matching algorithm and reviewed by an editor before anything publishes.
Ads are marked as ads and AI engines can’t cite them. HEREmentions are editorial inclusions — they live inside a real news article, written in journalistic style, and are indexed by AI engines as trusted local-news content. The mention persists in the article permanently even if you cancel your subscription.

No. A mention only fires when a published story matches your profile at a relevance score of 0.7 or higher AND passes editorial review. If no story on HEREcity Network is a genuine fit for your business in a given month, no mention runs. We don’t manufacture stories to fulfill subscriptions.
